WINNERS AND LOSERS
The winners in a competitive game are usually the ones who played more skillfully and scored higher. The losers went home with more to learn and a new start at the next game. These "losers" can change their position by continuing in the competition, and at the next game their status changes, if they win the next game. The out come for the teams is determined at the end of the season by counting the wins vs. losses with the other teams at the end of the season.
.
Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.
Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Let those of us who are mature think this way...
(Phil. 3:11-15a)
We as the church are entering a new season of grace and power and have been given a mandate to reach this world with the gospel and to affect and train this generation in a way never attempted before in history. We have entered in running, and now is the time to remain in the race, don't quit or slow down. Paul said it best, "run to win"! Let us continue on in this season, training and pressing toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God, after all at the end of this season, we win!
You know that many runners enter a race, and only one of them wins the prize. So run to win!
Athletes work hard to win a crown that cannot last, but we do it for a crown that will last forever.
I don't run without a goal. And I don't box by beating my fists in the air.
I keep my body under control and make it my slave, so I
won't lose out after telling the good news to others.
1st Cor. 9:24-27
One more thought... if you never enter the race or stay in it you will never win. It is not the loss of a game, race, or competition that labels us as losers, it is not entering in that predetermines that out come.
Do not stop, quit, or give up, only surrender.....to The Lord Jesus Christ and the purpose to which you were born.
To Win!!
